A tornado hit the Chicago suburbs of Naperville, Woodridge, Burr Ridge and Darien late Sunday night, damaging dozens of homes and businesses, and injuring several people. Early estimates say the tornado was an EF-2 or EF-3 rated storm, meaning winds of may have reached more than 150 miles per hour.
Nearly 2 dozen injuries have been reported in connection with the storm, but so far, no fatalities. Storm watches began a few hours before the first tornado warnings were issued around 11pm Sunday. Damage estimates and the clean-up are underway, and the National Weather Service is surveying the damage. Crews are also working to clear debris from roadways and also restore power.
