State officials hope 'vaccine lottery' is successful

Story by WBGZ Radio

State officials are hopeful the new lottery promotion will prompt more people to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

There are some people that will never get vaccinated, maybe for religious reasons or other beliefs said Illinois Public Health Director Doctor Ngozi Ezike at a press conference last week.

But she’d like to see what she calls the “movable middle” enticed by the “all in for the win” lottery which features 10 million dollars in prizes.

The first drawing for the lottery will be July 8th. Anyone getting at least their first dose of the vaccine is automatically entered.
