Father McGivney (31-7) 2nd in State

The Father McGivney Griffins finished 2nd in state in Class 1A baseball.  The South Central Cougars from Farina won the state title game last night (THU), 4-2 over the Griffins at Illinois State University in Normal.

Thursday morning in the Class 1A state semi's -- Father McGivney beat Newark, 5-1.  Jackson Rodgers was the winning pitcher improving his record to 9-and-0 on the season. 

> Newark won the 3rd place game at the 1A state tourney, 6-2 over Mt. Pulaski.
